I thought I'd send you this picture of LMS locomotive 6201 'Princess Elizabeth' immediately prior to working the charter train from Birmingham to London in connection with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Pageant on Sunday 3rd June 2012.

I am one of the locomotives support crew members and was on the footplate as we passed through Tackley Station in the morning. I was made aware that the residents of Tackley would be attending your local station to witness and cheer the passage of the train. I was asked if the whistle could be blown as we passed through and it was I that obliged. I can also tell you that your village was singled out for an extra special whistle blow. You may have noticed that I gave a short, short long short sequence on the hooter, which in Morse Code stands for 'E.R.'.

It was a shame that the weather was so poor but we on the locomotive enjoyed your cheers as we passed through. I'm sure you all enjoyed the moment as well.
