From Tackley you can usually take the train to Banbury or Kings Sutton for connections to Marylebone, or to Oxford or Didcot for connections to Paddington. However, the up-platform at Tackley Station (arrivals from Banbury, departures to Oxford is currently CLOSED while the new rail bridge is constructed. Disabled or elderly passengers wishing to travel to Oxford from Tackley, or to Tackley from Banbury should call GWR’s Passenger Assist Team on 0800 197 1329 to book a taxi. Passengers coming from Banbury should continue to Oxford and get a train or taxi back. Great Western Railways and Network Rail have suggested that everyone else use the S4 bus service. The other alternative is to drive to Lower Heyford or Oxford Parkway. For more updates on the current situation, visit the Tackley Rail User Group page here.
